How do you maintain the motivation to start and continue your entrepreneurial activity?
I think, first of all, that for an entrepreneurial activity you need a strong motivation, determination, calling! Entrepreneurship is not for everyone and that’s good. I also think that to maintain this motivation, sometimes crazy, over time is much more difficult, it requires enormous energy. After all, why would we be given this energy, if not to turn it into deeds, safe for others, into a method of creating value and offering a purpose to others!?
What do you think are the traits of a successful person?
Authenticity, the power to accomplish something beyond self-interest, the desire to contribute.
Where does an entrepreneur who linked his name to energy get his energy from?
Any entrepreneur gets his energy from the people he surrounds himself with and from what he creates. An energy entrepreneur also feeds on the nobility and importance of the field in which he operates. I feel grateful for the chance to work in this field and that’s why I give back most of the energy I have. Most of it.
What are the objects to which your dearest memories are linked and what is their story?
The bike! I wanted a bike for a long time and I borrowed one from a friend on the street. At one point my father promised to buy me a Pegas with horns and I think it was one of the happiest days of my life. I don’t get attached to objects, but that bike has remained as an eternal memory. I brilliantly compensate for the lack of attachment to objects and places with the attachment to beings.
What are the favorite places for vacations and why?
The sea, wherever it is. I love boats, the sound of the waves and the heat. I love Europe and the Mediterranean, I consider them our Paradise on this Earth. The culture, the tradition, the smell…
Is there a technological detox period?
I don’t practice any form of detox. I love to know, to try to be involved. Technology is part of the era we live in, and I believe in moderation rather than abstinence. There is somewhere in me a need for solitude and isolation, which disappears every time after three days.
What are the people, books and the kind of experiences that inspire you?
Authentic and intelligent people are my favorites. Books that broaden my understanding of the world, the universe and people are my favorites. I read a lot in relation to the free time I have. As someone said, the only thing I’m afraid of is that before I die I won’t be able to read all the books I set out to read.
Is there a taste that makes you think of home or pleasant memories?
Apple pie! Happy Sundays can only be different from having the house smelling like apple pie and because there is no greater luxury than to allow you to eat as many pies as you want.
What is the most important business lesson learned so far?
Where the business ends and where I start. It’s extremely important for an entrepreneur. You learn that by losing, by learning humility, by knowing your limits. That’s why I believe that a true entrepreneur can only be one who has gone through failure.
